Who I am
“I love languages. I love teaching. I can’t explain the joy that it is to help people achieve their goals through education”.
I’m Marina Reis-Leenders, a certified language teacher who loves her profession. I started learning English at a very young age. I used to borrow my older sisters’ English school books and spend hours and hours doing English exercises or translating lyrics from English to Portuguese.
Noticing my eager to learn a new language, my mother - who worked in a language school at that time- was able to get me a free English course. I took all the English courses they offered. I became a coordinator assistant at that same language school. I went to The US to learn English. I’ve been to Germany. I’ve got a bachelor’s degree in English/Portuguese - Language and Literature. I took a CELTA course - and I passed! I moved to The Netherlands to be close to the person I love.
I’ve been teaching English for over 8 years now and I’m not planning to stop any time soon. Learning a new language can be tricky sometimes, but it also can help you open so many doors. As a teacher -and a students myself- all I can say is: “Don’t give up! Don’t leave it for tomorrow! I’m here to help you!”
